Abstract

Introduction: Custom-made insoles produced using 3D technology are increasingly being used in podiatry; however, there is limited local evidence regarding their outcomes. Objective: To determine the influence of 3D-printed insoles on the treatment of podiatric conditions in adults seen at a center in Asunción in 2025. Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a mixed-methods approach. A total of 108 patients were surveyed (using simple random sampling and a 5-point Likert scale, after at least 7 days of use), and their clinical records were reviewed. Results: 68.5% of patients reported less pain while walking, 76.9% experienced greater stability and comfort, and 71.3% noted an improvement in their gait. 74.1% used the insoles daily or almost daily, and 84.3% expressed satisfaction. In 19 cases (17.6%)—all involving the forefoot—minor discomfort occurred, which was resolved through small adjustments. Conclusions: 3D-printed insoles were well-accepted and well-tolerated in the short term; further studies incorporating comparative analysis and objective measurements are required.
