The aesthetic and its intermediary role between life and education

This paper aims to delve into the content of the category of the aesthetic to see it in its relationship with life in general and not only with art. To this end, their evolutionary antecedents are considered, not with the purpose of finding in them a predefinition of what the aesthetic would be in the human being, but to seek that umbilical cord that ties the aesthetic to life. That is why the text focuses its attention on the qualitative differences of aesthetic relations with the reality of human beings in comparison with these evolutionary premises in the nonhuman world. This will lead to seeing in the aesthetic a social construction, but not divorced from life, but with a much more complex and socially conditioned type of vital bond. Within this general human dimension, an approach to art and its aesthetic values is offered, the realization of which is in the human enrichment that it promotes in its recipients. This enriching role could only be exercised in a subjectivity prepared for it and that preparation can only be offered by education, education that requires the educator himself to be educated. Hence the emphasis that must be placed on the place of aesthetics in the training process of future teachers.
