Síndrome de Muir-Torre: una enfermedad poco sospechada

El síndrome de Muir-Torre es una enfermedad genética autosómica dominante relacionada con el síndrome de Lynch, poco frecuente caracterizada por la asociación entre tumores sebáceos cutáneos y neoplasias viscerales, principalmente colorrectales y ginecológicas. Su reconocimiento temprano permite identificar pacientes con predisposición hereditaria al cáncer y establecer estrategias de vigilancia. El objetivo de esta revisión fue analizar la evidencia disponible sobre la epidemiología, fisiopatología, manifestaciones clínicas, diagnóstico y tratamiento del síndrome. Se realizó una revisión narrativa de la literatura mediante la evaluación de estudios publicados en bases de datos biomédicas de alto impacto. La evidencia muestra que el diagnóstico integra los hallazgos clínicos, histopatológicos y genéticos, mientras que el tratamiento requiere un abordaje multidisciplinario con seguimiento periódico para detectar neoplasias tempranas. El conocimiento de esta entidad favorece el diagnóstico oportuno y mejora el pronóstico de los pacientes y sus familias.Referencias
